Ia ora na!

My name is Mireta Wong Chou, I am 26 years old and I am the creator of Silky Sand Tahiti.

My story with sewing began in high school, in tenth grade. It all started with my mom's Brother sewing machine. She taught me to sew straight, making blankets to practice patience and precision. Little by little, I developed a taste for the blend of gentleness, concentration, and creativity that sewing offers.

Very quickly, I started creating my own clothes. What inspired me to found Silky Sand Tahiti was, above all, my love for Polynesian patterns and colors-prints that exude the joy, warmth, and beauty of our islands. They bring me so much happiness that I wanted to share them beyond my island.

Each Silky Sand Tahiti creation is handmade, made to measure, with simple, comfortable and elegant cuts, designed to enhance everyday life while maintaining the authenticity of Polynesian craftsmanship.

For several years, my studies took me far from my sewing machine: I have a master's degree in translation in English and Spanish. These years of learning were enriching. I discovered Spain, France, new cultures, and new inspirations.

Even though I wasn't able to launch my brand earlier, this period allowed me to grow, broaden my vision, and better understand what I wanted to share through my creations.

Today, I live in Toulouse, France.

In Tahiti, I am fortunate to already have close clients who have trusted me since the beginning. My wish now is to bring the colors of Polynesia here, so that the softness and light of Tahiti can also be worn in mainland France.

Silky Sand Tahiti is above all an adventure of the heart: a thread woven between my Polynesian roots and my new life in France.

Each piece tells a story, and I hope that through them you will feel a little of the sun and the sweetness of our islands.
